Summer Drawing Challenge

HELLLLLOOOO SUMMER!

I am so excited to have a few restful months off and time to refresh my own creativity! Time to paint, draw and go to the pool too!

If you (or your child) are feeling bored this summer, get a out a piece of paper a, pencil or marker and get to drawing! This not only cures those summer time boredom blues, but helps keep their creativity and thought process fresh.

I came up with 25 drawing ideas for them to draw over the summer that can be turned in the first week of school, next year (Fall 2016).  For their efforts, they will receive a 'free' 20 extra credit points AND a chance to have one of their drawings put on a T-SHIRT! I know! Fun right!?

2016 Summer Drawing Challenge from emilyburlingame on Vimeo.

The drawing challenge paper was sent home the last week of school, but if it got misplaced you can find it here.

The challenge is open to students who are ENTERING 1st - 6th grade.

The rules are simple:
  • Draw all 25 of the Challenge prompts during the summer
  • Each drawing should be done on ONE 8.5x11 piece of paper - like computer paper. Nothing fancy!
  • Drawings DO NOT need to be on 25 consecutive days, but please do put the date that you drew each challenge on your drawing.
  • Put your first and last name on each drawing
  • All drawings should be in a folder that they have decorated (can be just a large piece of paper folded in half)
  • Drawings are due back to Mrs. Burlingame t school the first week of school to get full credit
  • If all 25 drawings are done correctly, you will receive a free 20 point in your first 9 weeks

T-SHIRT RULES

I will be choosing the best drawing of Day 24's "Art Supplies" to go on a t-shirt that will be available for all students to purchase. This would be a great shirt to have for an ART SMOCK this coming school year. Sale of the shirts will be open to all students and will help us have a little extra budget for unique art supplies and special guest art visitors this next school year. To qualify for the t-shirt competition, students MUST turn in ALL 25 drawings as outlined above.

I will be posting videos through out the summer to give you ideas and how-to's on the Summer Drawing Challenge! Enjoy!
